To all those who may be surprised, I say, we need to get together and I can tell you the whole background story etc. I'm not going into this lightly. I/we have thought and talked about it long and hard and decided it was what we both were ready for and wanted. I'm so excited and happy and I wanted to share it with all my friends and family. Here's how he asked me :)
A few days ago while at one of my favorite places, Anthropologie. The original idea was that he was going to be handing me various items through/over the door, then after a series of items hand over this flower arrangement with the ring in the middle. When I went into the dressing room with all the items, he had to revise his plan. So while I was in the dressing room, he went and put the box in a housewares area. I got done trying on things and we went out. I was surprised when he made his way over to the housewares area because I knew he didn't particularly like these fabric letters there. I followed him over and he showed me a couple things and I didn't even notice the box of flowers at first. He had to point it out, then I thought it was so strange that it was there. I thought and voiced the opinion that some employee must have brought it in but that it didn't fit in. It was really strange and out of place. I then went on to say that it wasn't even a very good arrangement and maybe the flowers were dying because there was a space in the middle. Nick even asked me what kind of flowers were in it to get me to look and I still hadn't caught on. I finally looked a little closer at the blank spot in the middle of the flowers and saw my ring's band! I kind of gasped and was so excited! I wasn't expecting it at all, it was such a great surprise! Nick asked me if I'd be his forever and put the ring on my finger after I said of course. It was wonderful. I'm so lucky! So when I said earlier in my Thanksgiving post that good things were to come in the coming year he was one of them. We'll be getting married in May.
I'm really happy and so excited. He's wonderful and so good to me. I'm very lucky to have snagged him up.
(Nick, please don't mind that I'm putting up a ton of pictures of you.)

This is my incredibly gorgeous ring! An Art Deco peice from an antique shop in San Francisco!
