Sa's Birthday!

So Sa, just (a couple weeks ago) had her birthday and Nick and I got to take the girls out for the day!  We had a really great time!  We first went to the Children's Theater to watch their rendition of "The Emperor's New Clothes".  I put together little snack bags for the girls with pretzels and heart marshmallows and starbursts.  Nobody worry that I ate my fair share of these treat bags.  The girls did pretty well during the play - Mel got a bit antsy but I think that was to be expected.

After the play it was time for dinner and the girls wanted to go to McDonalds and play.  They then promptly fell asleep in the car.  We didn't want to wake them up so we drove around a bit and got some dinner for me and let them nap for a bit.  Then to McDonald's we went! They played until their cheeks were pink.  We planned to make a birthday cake for Sa and let the girls decorate it so we went home for our last activity of the night.

The cake is basically a white cake made with guava juice topped with a cream cheese frosting and a guava jelly type topping.  Pretty tasty stuff!  After I put on the cream cheese frosting we let the girls have at it . . . 1 full shaker of red sprinkles, 1 full shaker of rainbow sprinkles, and 2 full gel pens later we were done!  I should point out that normally this cake is a lovely light pink color . . . this time however it was red and rainbow streaked :)

We put a few candles on it and sang happy birthday and dug in.  It still tasted great just a little more crunch and color than usual.

Thanks for sharing your girls with us James and Sa!
