Needless to say Nick and I never expected this so it's been quite the 180. We are excited though and it's easier to be even more excited now that the baby looks like a baby and not an alien. I'm trying to decide whether to go in for my ultrasound in 2 weeks or 3 weeks. They develop so much in one week and we may get a better idea of what it is. I'm not a gender colors person, but I'd still like to know.
Alia and a lady at a Chinese/Japanese restaurant think I'll be having a boy. I did have a dream it was a boy last night but he didn't look anything like Nick or I. I guess we'll just see!
Other than trying to deal with pregnancy, I have done a few things. We had the Beyeler family reunion and the kids had a really good time. Running around and playing. Our Uncle Blake brought a pinata and the shower of candy was greatly appreciated too. Andy brought his slack line and set it up between a couple trees. Needless to say he was pretty popular for the afternoon.
I took Alia to the Dew Tour which was really fun! We watched the dirt bike competition and Alia told me which riders were cute. I was telling her that maybe one day if she practiced she might be able to do tricks like those riders, pointing out that there weren't any girls. She replied that she'd have good dreams that night. I asked, "Why? Are you going to dream you were doing cool tricks on a bike?" She said, "No, I'm going to dream I went out on a date with one of those boys!" So much for feminism! Check out the video below. These bike riders are amazing! It was soo cool to be there watching them. I missed this event last year and only saw the skateboarding. I like the dirt bike riding much more.
Andy got married to a wonderful girl, Blair. They had a very nice ring ceremony and luncheon after which a couple of the guys and one of Blair's friends decorated Andy's car. We also had an open house at my parents house and Emmy, my Mom, and several other people did a lot of baking and helping which was very nice. Auntie Lorraine has been extremely helpful at these events too.

Now I'm looking forward to the Holiday season and hoping to get to see the kids dressed up for Halloween. Mel is going to be Princess Fiona, Harrison wants to be a "Boy Jesse" (like Jesse from Toy Story), and Alia is going to be a Chinese Princess. I'm not totally sure what Sophie will be yet.
So there's an update. Hopefully it won't be so long between the next one!
