So much fun!

This last Saturday, I had a great time with Baby Girl Alia!

We went to a "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" Pajama Party at Jordan Commons! We went there in the morning and the festivities began with donuts and juice. Games followed; a prize hunt in a sandbox full of popcorn, musical chairs, and posters to color. At first, baby girl didn't want to dig her little paws into the popcorn for prizes, but then after seeing the other kids get cheered on decided to give it a go. She did a great job and found a box of whoppers and some chocolates! Then Alia decided that I needed to do some popcorn diving too! So I put on the blindfold and searched, with Alia's help, in the popcorn. I won a box of red vines, a gift certificate for popcorn, and a couple Dum-Dum suckers. Triumph!

Then we went into the theater and sat in the perfect middle seats. The original "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" story was read. It was published in 1978. I didn't know it was that old (older than me even)! We put on our fabulous 3-d glasses and were handed popcorn, a little prize package of swag, and settled in for a good movie.

It was a great movie! We laughed a lot and Alia was even on the edge of her seat in parts. Alia's favorite part was where the main girl, Sam Sparks, gets hit with a bit of peanut brittle. Sam Sparks is allergic to nuts and gets all puffy faced. Both Alia and I know how that feels. We're both allergic too. Thank goodness Alia hasn't had a really bad reaction. There was also a great part where Sam and the main character Flint play and bounce around in a giant jello house!

I'm so glad I get to spend time with my nieces and nephew! Thank you to my family for living close enough for me to get to do things like this with the kids. Those kids keep me going when times get tough and they always love you no matter what. They're fabulous and they keep me young!

You're such a good Auntie. It sounds like it was a great time, and I think Alia needs one on one time every so often. We're lucky to have you around.
